Don’t’have a goal, go with the flow

Don’t’have a goal, go with the flow

April 29, 2021

‘Life is what is happening to you when you’re busy making other plans’, John Lennon once said. Unless, unless you trust the Divine. In that case, you go with the flow. That is why it is so important not to have a goal, but just a direction. It helps you staying in the flow. Or as they say in Taoism, ‘don’t get in the way of the plans the Divine has for you.’

In this episode of Yoga on the Sofa, episode 16, we will tell you how to find your flow and how to stay in it.

We, are your hosts, Sara Bigatti (http://www.lascimmiayoga.com) and John Kraijenbrink (http://www.yogaopklompen.nl).

We like to thank our sponsor ReYoga (http://www.reyoga.it) for making this episode, the last one of season one, possible.

Which yoga level are you on?

Which yoga level are you on?

March 18, 2021

Which Yoga level are you on? Or are there no levels in yoga? That are the questions we will answer in this episode, Episode 14, of our Yoga on the Sofa Podcast.

A lot of people just want to do advanced asanas, advanced practices. But is that wise? Can't we learn as much from a 'beginners’ class' as we can from an advanced class. And doesn't our body need a break from advanced postures every now and then? If you want to know the answers, just listen to this new episode.

We like to thank our sponsor ReYoga (http://www.reyoga.it) for making this episode possible.

As always, your hosts are Sara Bigatti (http://www.lascimmiayoga.com) and John Kraijenbrink (http://www.yogaopklompen.nl). You can find more about us on the Yoga on the Sofa-website (http://www.yogaonthesofa.com).

Money is spiritual energy

Money is spiritual energy

March 1, 2021

In this episode, number 13, of Yoga on the Sofa we are going to talk about money, because it is such a taboo in the yoga world.

We are going to look at it from 2 perspectives: as a yoga teacher and as a yoga student. Why should you ask money for your teachings? And why should you pay a yoga teacher for her or his teachings?

The reason for this episode is a quote of the Austrian-American eco-entrepreneur, Horst Rechelbacher, we came across and liked very much. Rechelbacher said: ‘Money is spiritual energy that, once released, can make things happen for the betterment of the planet. In other words: When money flows, transformation is possible.’

So, let us have a deeper look at that transformation and how you, with earning and spending your money can contribute to the betterment of the planet.

Follow your Ikigai, find your Dharma

Follow your Ikigai, find your Dharma

February 16, 2021

In this episode we’re going to talk about Ikigai and your Dharma, or whatever you want to call your mission in life, because everybody has one. Finding it is key to a happy life. If you find it, your life will come into a beautiful flow.

Yoga believes that we are all here on earth to play a role in each other’s life. We are all here to contribute to the whole. To the big picture. What that role is, is one of the things we have to find out. How? That’s what we will tell you in this episode.

Ikigai is also the title of a beautiful, little book written by the Hector Garcia and Francesc Miralles. You can find it in the bookshops.

The intro music of this episode is from Westra; http://www.fredwestra.com

How a Sangha can speed up your personal growth as a Yogi

How a Sangha can speed up your personal growth as a Yogi

February 3, 2021

A Sangha is a community of like-minded people. Being part of one can help your personal growth as a yogi/yogini.

It’s the reason we have set up our own (online) Sangha and why we do our Yoga on the Sofa Podcasts.

Why does it work? Sara Bigatti (http://www.lascimmiayoga) and John Kraijenbrink (http://www.yogaopklompen.nl) will tell you in this episode, number 11, of Yoga on the Sofa.

Of course, John will be a bit nerdy again and throw in some scientific facts.

Enjoy

Plant the seed of your Sankalpa

Plant the seed of your Sankalpa

January 20, 2021

In this Podcast, number 10 of Yoga on the Sofa we’re going to work with our Sankalpa, which you have created in Episode 9. If not, listen to that episode first. Sara will guide you through a meditation to make your Sankalpa become reality.

But before we do that, we're going to look at advertisement. That may seem out of place, but in this episode you'll discover why advertisers love to advertise late at night on television. It has all to do with your mind.

Advertisers know a little trick to convince you that you need their product, and you can use that same, very effective trick to start living your Sankalpa.

As always, we end this Podcast with the beautiful music of Fred Westra. This time we'll play The Courage to Love for you. (http://www.fredwestra.com)

Your hosts in this episode are Sara Bigatti (http://www.lascimmiayoga.com) and John Kraijenbrink (http://www.yogaopklompen.nl).

This Episode wouldn't be possible with the help of our sponsor, ReYoga; the brand for yoga mats and yoga wear that is either made from or is recyclable. (http://www.reyoga.it)

In this Podcast, number 9, of Yoga on the Sofa we look back one more time on the crazy year 2020 and we will look forward to 2021.

2020 is by most seen as a heavy, bad, sad year. Yet, as every year, there are some beautiful lessons to learn as well. In this episode we will at those lessons. Yoga calls this Santosha; looking at the bright side of life.
